The financings will support AFG Bank Guinée’s ambition to double its SME portfolio, from EUR 60m to EUR 120m by 2027, and to triple its number of SME clients. The loan facility will support SMEs in transport, catering, energy and food, as well as manufacturing and renewables while the trade finance facility will strengthen the bank’s capacity to finance international trade, helping AFG develop new correspondent banking relationships, and support clients’ import operations. Part of the AFD – Agence Française de Développement’s Choose Africa initiative to support African startups and SMEs, the financings form part of the long-term strategic partnership signed by Proparco and Atlantic Financial Group at the Africa Forward summit in Nairobi in May 2026.
Congratulations to all involved on this important step for Guinea’s banking sector, giving Guinean businesses more means to invest, grow and access new markets to drive in-country growth.
